This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Part-Time - 24hours per week.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform and record history and physical examinations and records data from clinic visits. - Evaluate, consult, develop diagnosis, and manage the primary care panel of patients assigned. - Enter progress notes in computerized medical record and complete documented encounters in a timely manner. - While history and physical exams will typically be conducted during the direct face-to-face appointment, training and use of Video telehealth (VVC, CVT) is required. As appropriate, telehealth visits will be offered and completed to augment patient care. - Provide medical care encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions and all appropriate preventive care for both male and female veterans. - Order diagnostic tests, medications, laboratory tests as medically relevant for each patient. - Provide timely follow-up on results, including completion of view alerts. - Determine medical assessment and develop treatment plans according to accepted protocols. - Prescribe medications according to approved formulary, and in accordance with VHA regulations, Federal and State Law. - Educate patients concerning medical conditions and recommended treatments. (Specific topics include nutritional counseling, need for smoking cessation, need for periodic immunizations and health screening tests, and other preventive health measures). - Consult other specialties as appropriate, according to service agreements. - Available for collaboration with advanced practice providers as needed. - Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
Recent Primary Care experience >1 year
Board certification/board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
