Job Description:
Responsible for assisting in the development and supporting the successful implementation of the SelectHealth strategic direction, and for providing effective operational leadership within the scope of this role
Job Essentials
Demonstrates credibility that earns the trust and respect of the employed and affiliate caregiver community and SelectHealth stakeholders.
Establishes and maintains strong, effective working relationships with leadership of Community Care Group, Specialty Care Group, Clinical Programs and Services, Office of Patient Experience, Intermountain Medical Group, and affiliated physicians.
Effectively promotes successful information technology strategies. Supports the development of clinical quality improvement initiatives. Supports the development of pharmacy initiatives.
Facilitates and enhances relationships with Intermountain Medical Directors.
Works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer. to achieve stated organization and clinical goals. Actively and effectively participates as invited in committees and teams.
Supports development and maintenance of clinical policy which delivers high quality affordable care. Incorporates the Intermountain values into daily work ethic.
Acts as medical director for assigned Line of Business or population.
Leads opportunity evaluation for medical management initiatives. Oversees the credentialing process including developing standards, evaluating provider credentials, advising others and resolving issues with credentialed and non-credentialed providers. Works with others across the organization on the credentialing process to ensure appropriate outcomes.
Participates in corporate strategic planning with other leaders across the organization and helps facilitate seamless integration by maintaining effective cross-divisional and cross-functional decision-making processes and relationships.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with Board Certification in an approved ABMS Medical Specialty
and -
Requires current unrestricted MD/DO licensure within the State of Utah and willing to obtain additional license(s), if required
and -
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
and -
Requires ten years of successful leadership experience
and -
Demonstrated knowledge of financial principles.
and -
Extensive medical practice experience and excellent leadership skills.
and -
Must have sound understanding of modern health care economics and a commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
Physician governance experience, such as participation on a Medical Group Board of Directors
and -
Multi-specialty group/clinic experience
and -
Managed care knowledge and experience preferably in the health insurance industry
and -
Experience in the management of clinicians and administrative resources
and -
Development and implementation of clinical and business quality improvement initiatives
and -
Knowledge of sophisticated clinical and management information systems
Physical Requirements:
