DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: Robust outpatient internal medicine clinic with embedded behavioral health, clinical pharmacy, population health and care management. This position is located in a state of the art outpatient primary care clinic at the hospital campus with colocation of internal medicine and family care practitioners. St. Charles Medical Group is a comprehensive network of more than 240 providers that covers a complete range of primary care as well as more than 20 subspecialties.
POSITION OVERVIEW: St. Charles Medical Group, Bend OR is seeking an outpatient-only internal medicine physician to join 3 existing internal medicine physicians and 1 APP to provide primary care as part of a comprehensive CPC plus medical home.
Work schedule: Provider will work minimum of 40 hours per week. This will consist of four 10-hour days scheduled as a blend of scheduled clinic visits, alternative visits, telephone f/up, and overall panel management.
Call expectation: The provider is expected to participate in the clinic call rotation which is shared equally by all providers in the Bend, Sisters, and La Pine primary care clinics. 1:15 Telephone Call.
Work location: Physician's primary work location Bend Internal Medicine at 2600 NE Neff Rd.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: (May perform additional duties of similar complexity within SCHS as required or assigned)
Clinical Expectations:
Practice and role model excellence in the Internal Medicine domains of diagnosis, aligning treatment goals to patient values, definitive treatment, supportive care treatment, follow-up care, promote good health and prevent illness.
Practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentialing. Cooperate with other SCHS provider and caregivers to insure optimal patient care.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care while demonstrating expert knowledge of evidence-based, primary care.
Collaborate with other members of the Internal Medicine care interdisciplinary team and referring providers to ensure a world-class patient experience.
Calculates dosages and administers medications accurately in accordance with SCHS policies and procedures for medication administration.
Document all patient care in the proper form and in a timely manner in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies.
Participates equally in identified clinic's call duties and responsibilities.
Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
Administrative Expectations:
Document all patient care within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete all necessary tasks in compliance with health system policies and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate billing.
Be familiar with the SCHS organization structure.
Participate in SCMG physicians meetings and assist in policy formation for SCMG and Physician's practice.
Keep medical knowledge and skills current through regular CME activity. Must attest to having adequate (CME) to meet maintenance of board certification and compliance with MSO rules and continuing privileges without restriction.
Keep all licenses and appropriate certifications current and unrestricted.
Maintain active privileges at a St. Charles Health System hospital sufficient to permit performance of job duties.

EDUCATION
Required:
Graduation from an accredited college or university.
Graduation from an accredited medical school.
Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
Successful completion of additional educational programs necessary to enable Physician to acquire and maintain privileges to perform the range of services contemplated. This includes board eligibility/certification in the specialty being practiced.
Attend mandatory educational offerings as described in SCHS policies/procedures and/or as required by other regulatory bodies.
Complete annual CME as required to maintain license and appropriate Board certification.
Complete in a timely manner assigned Computer Based Learning modules.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required:
Current Oregon license as MD / DO
Must be board certified or eligible in Physician's chosen specialty. To be board certified or qualified to sit for the boards in primary area of practice at the Hospital. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency or fellowship training are required to become board certified within seven years of residency or fellowship training.
Unrestricted Federal DEA number.
Unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare / Medicaid, or other federal or state governmental health care programs.
Valid driver's license and the ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.
Current BLS certification required.
ACLS certification is required after 6 months of employment if assisting in infusion room oversite.
Additional certifications may be required based on privileges granted to provider by Medical Staff Services at SCHS Inpatient locations.
Preferred:
Oregon licensure.
Federal DEA number registered in Oregon.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
0-2 years of post-residency experience in Internal Medicine
Experience using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and professionally represent St. Charles Health System.
Experience working in a team environment and proven ability to collaborate, manage facilitation and consensus building among health care professionals and agencies to achieve expected results.
Preferred:
2+ years of post-residency experience in Internal Medicine
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient practice environments
Epic EMR software experience.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continually (75% or more): Standing and walking, keyboard operation, use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.
Frequently (50%): Sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 1-25 pounds. The use and operation of a motor vehicle for Home Health and Wound Caregivers.
Occasionally (25%): Bending, stooping/kneeling/crouching, climbing ladder/step-stool (varies by area), reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 25-50 pounds, grasping/squeezing, ability to hear whispered speech level.
